Internalised layers, KH7 Artspace 2026
Internalised Layers is an installation work that explores the relationship between the body, touch and our sense of self. The work consists of a physical, tactile book-like installation combined with a digital projection, creating an exploration of the body’s inner layers.
The physical works incorporate materials including snake skin, butterfly wings, dried flowers, cacao, gold and silver, mounted upon achiote-dyed hospital sheets, then assembled into pages that can be handled and explored. As the layers of the physical work are navigated, a virtual body is shown, moving through its own layers, revealing its inner landscapes. The work invites visitors to approach, touch and investigate its surfaces while questioning the boundary between what feels physical and what only appears to be.
